A first time for everything, part deux

A parking ticket, that is. Blasted fire hydrants. We don't even have them; how am I supposed to know about fire hydrants?

So sorry. I'm going to have to be careful when I start driving but the way I'm going it won't be for some time.
Wonderful picture!

Nevermind. Traffic fines are developping into tax, here in Belgium.

I was pulled over by the cops 29 times my first year driving. I didn't get a ticket, though, until #30 pulled me over. He got angry when I tried to explain I was only speeding because I was applying eyeliner, smoking, and fastening my shoe buckle at the same time. Who had time to watch the speedometer?!

29 times. Wow. I certainly hope not to reach that point. Mostly it's amazing that you got away with most of it! I thought American cops were tough.

S.S. Stone - the Spouse says one should just accept that when one begins to drive, accidents will happen. I have a hard time with that though, especially the one time I ended up almost killing us on the interstate - we emerged miraculously unscathed, but that was the end of driving for a bit. Anyway - you just kind of have to assume that you will be fine; mostly it's the people with the licences, rather than the learners, who do the stupid things - because they think they can. Approaching driving with some caution is not a bad thing.
